On this beautiful sunny day we welcomed Old Silkstone Band to our lovely park from 2 to 4 o’clock. Friends of Locke Park are bringing back music to Locke Park supported by Kingstone Ward Alliance and Virgin Money.
The railings were away being stripped and repainted! The rest of the bandstand is being refreshed and repainted in situ later in the year.
Bring something to sit on, perhaps a picnic and enjoy the music from Barnsley Brass. Or pause to listen on your walk around Locke Park. The music will be great what ever you are doing.

Brass band concerts in Locke Park are starting again in June, one or two a month to September, sponsored by Kingstone Ward Alliance. Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club has its Classic Car event in June and its Gala in August. And more later in the year …
Friends of Locke Park open Locke Park Tower on the first Sunday of each month from 2pm until 4pm, weather conditions permitting. We also need to have enough volunteers each time.
We’re opening Locke Park Tower on Sunday 2nd April from 2pm until probably 4pm, depending on the weather.
Come along, go up the tower and see the views.
Donations are appreciated to help improving the park: the much admired murals and fairy garden, near the bowling greens, were funded from your donations.
We wish everyone all the best for 2023. Although we normally open Locke Park Tower on the first Sunday of the month, this Sunday is New Year’s Day and we’re giving it a miss.
We intend opening the tower on Sunday February 5th, weather permitting — and we hope for good views then.
