Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club have a classic car rally in Locke Park on Sunday 8 August. It’s a YTCC classic car show with no other activities or stalls. Cars for the rally will be arriving from 9.30am for the day.

People coming to Locke Park in the usual way for the play area, cafe or a walk can park in the normal car park at the beginning of Keresforth Hall Road.

YTCC members and visitors for the rally will drive into the park using the gated entrance further along Keresforth Hall Road.

The junior parkrun is not taking place on this day.

Virus restrictions

Cancellation of events. As a result of Covid-19 virus regulations, we have cancelled the events that Friends of Locke Park usually runs and we are not opening Locke Park Tower until further notice. We are very sorry about this but everyone’s health and wellbeing has to be our priority. Watch out for events returning -once it’s safe to do so.

Locke Park has remained open throughout for everyone to enjoy. Locke Park café is open with tables outside and the play equipment areas are in use again. However it’s important for us all to keep social distance and follow other guidance to keep everyone safe.

Your views …

Your views. Friends of Locke Park are working with Barnsley Council Parks Team on a bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for improvements to Locke Park.

This will be the first part of a longer term plan to preserve Locke Park’s heritage, improve its environment and facilities, and make it an even better place to visit.

We need your help: we want to know what you think about Locke Park whether you are a regular visitor or have never been there before – please take a few moments to complete our survey. We are really keen to hear your suggestions and ideas for practical improvements.

You can also email us with your views and suggestions: info@friendsoflockepark.org.uk

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Friends of Locke Park.
